About the project
The entire property needed to have its existing cedar roof replaced with brand new shakes. To maximize the new roof’s life a new asphalt underlayment was woven into each course of the new 18inch taper-sawn cedar, along with new exhaust vents for the kitchen and bathrooms. Cleanliness and maintenance of the property were extremely important for the client. This meant we had to be extremely careful with all surroundings. Most of the old and new shakes had to be physically moved around the property, making sure that the pool, stairs and gardens were all preserved.
Results
After working intermittently, the job was completed in about a month’s time. The property consisted of different buildings with diverse roofing sections and multiple skylights. The shakes were successfully installed along the 5000ft2 of complex roofing area, while all of the skylights were inspected and properly re-flashed.
